Today on Monday, December 14th 2020 noon there was a huge failure of services belonging to Google. Almost everything except … the search engine itself does not work. The failure affects GMail, Google Photos, Calendar, Docs, Google Maps, Google Keep, Google Drive or even YouTube itself. You cannot access these services from your computer. Some of them also don’t work in the mobile version.
Google is in trouble. Not many services, including GMail
Gmail and YouTube began massively disobeying users around the world from around 12:45 CET.
Soon after, it turned out that the other services were not working. Users are trying their luck on mobile devices, but not much can be done here. For example, in GMail in the mobile version, you can read emails, but you cannot send them.
It seems that the problem is not unique to Poland. On the DownDetector website, users mainly indicate Europe as the site of the biggest breakdowns:
Twitter has just been flooded with messages from frustrated Internet users who are unable to do their jobs due to the paralysis of key services. On Twitter, the phrases “Google”, “#googledown” and “#Youtubedown” became the most trending topics at lightning speed. We don’t know yet what is causing the failure and how long it will last. The company has not yet taken a position on this matter.
We have contacted the Google press office in Poland and we are waiting to hear what is happening. Unfortunately, the failure also affected the Google panel informing about the status and … possible failures in its services. Therefore, we will not find out what is happening from it, because it simply … does not work.
